Olympic week
Fri 05 Jul 2024Year 5 have enjoyed learning about Asia at the Olympics as part of our whole school Olympic Week. The children researched the Asia's connections with the Olympics, when they have hosted the games and highlights from those events. They also used the ipads to find out about and create imovie's or Top Trump cards about popular Asian sports and famous Asian athletes. In our Music lesson, we listened to different Olympic songs then had a go at writing lyrics and composing melodies for our Olympic songs of our own!

Celebrating VE Day
Thu 06 Jun 2024To commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, year 6 came into school in 1940s costume including hairdos. Some had even practised hair styles like victory rolls.
We worked in teams to investigate and report on what happened on the day and how it was a turning point in World War II.

Warwick Castle Year 2
Thu 30 Nov 2023Year 2 enjoyed a super visit to Warwick as part of their History and Geography learning about castles. The children had the opportunity learn what life would be like for people who lived in Warwick Castle and identified lots of features of castles from the models they had made in school. They were also very excited to watch the birds of prey display, swooping and diving down to catch their prey. The children participated in workshops to find out about the different jobs people had at Warwick Castle, although we are not sure we would want to have lived there as castle life was hard! Well done, Year 2, and thank you to our parent helpers for our fabulous day.

Year 4 Trip to Chedworth Roman Villa
Mon 27 Nov 2023Last week, Year 4 went time-travelling back two-thousand years to the Roman’s time in Britain. We rode our chariots (coaches) along the old Roman Fosseway to Chedworth Roman Villa. There, we had a guided tour of the remains of the site, including the bath-house (beware of any Year 4s giving you hair tonic for Christmas…) and made some mosaics. A fun day, packed with immersive learning!

Shoebox Success
Wed 22 Nov 2023On behalf of The Amen Trust I would like to say a great big thank you to the staff, parents, carers and children who contributed to the recent Shoe box appeal. I had many lovely contributions and I was able to make up 39 family boxes. Your gift is greatly appreciated and will be part of consignment to be distributed in 4 different places in Romania in early December. We were 1 of the local schools and groups that contributed to this wonderful cause. Please do check for more photos on the Stratford upon Avon Baptist church's Facebook page.
