Rooted in faith, we reach for the stars.

Wednesday 11th

As it is Remembrance Day today we will do some work based on poppies. Firstly, look at the pictures of poppies. Which is your favourite picture? Why? Can you describe the poppies using brilliant describing words? You could describe their shape, colour, the way they move, and how you think they may smell. Do this as a spoken activity, there is no need to write. Could your child describe a picture so well that you know exactly which one they are describing without them pointing to it?

Secondly, have a look at the sheet with a riddle to complete. The children all wrote riddles last week in school. If you would like to look at some examples of riddles, you will find some in the week beginning 2nd November folder. (Not all the poems are riddles  - scroll through the document to find them.) Could you think of a line to complete the poem? We need another clue so that the reader can guess that we are talking about a poppy. Write your idea on the sheet in your best handwriting using a pencil.

Lastly, there is a picture of poppies for you to colour in.
