Wednesday independent activity

Today's learning involves understanding how to make tally charts.  In the zoom, we talked about putting our lines in groups of 5s, with the fifth line going across, so a set of 5 looks a bit like a gate.

Please see below for the White Rose videos relating to this in case you missed the zoom or would like to recap the learning.  We have then provided the related worksheet or you can complete the practical activity.

White Rose extra practice video - Make Tally Charts

Today's practical activity involves creating a pirate tally chart - can you create a tally chart to show how many pirates, parrots, flags and ships are in the picture?  You will need to draw a tally chart like the one under the picture (you can just use the words rather than pictures if easier!).  Don't forget to group your tallies in 5s.
If you would like an extra problem solving challenge, please see the Word document below or try the online game.
