Rooted in faith, we reach for the stars.

Week Beginning 18th October 2021

Last week, we became bear experts, discovering many bear facts.  This week, we will use our research to create a report about bears.  We will write a heading and label a picture of a bear.  You could draw your own bear or label one of the examples below, using the PowerPoint and word mat to help you.  Your adult can write some sub-headings for you.  These might include:

  • What does it look like?
  • Where does it live?
  • What does it eat?
  • Did you know?

Use what we learned last week to write a sentence or two beneath each sub-heading.  Check your sentences start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.

In phonics, we are completing phase three and starting to revise phase four.  In this phase, we do not learn any new sounds (or phonemes), but we practise blending those we already know. We focus on blending two consonants at the beginning or end of the words, for example, snap or jump.  Please see our phonics page for links to practise this.
