Head Teacher Welcome
Welcome from the Headteacher, Jo Herrero
I am delighted to welcome you to Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School, an innovative learning community steeped in rich historic heritage where learning is irresistible for children and adults alike. Founded over two hundred years ago by the most visited church in England - where Shakespeare was baptised and buried - we take great pride in being the oldest primary school in Stratford. Our school vision is, "Rooted in Faith we Reach for the Stars". It runs through every aspect of school life as we aspire to foster an environment that cultivates ambition, curiosity and spirituality in our learners. It's not just about producing the best outcomes that we can, it's also about learning to be the best people we can be as part of a special community. This links directly to our school values which are also highlighted below.
Our curriculum intent is a commitment to nurturing independent, reflective, and critical thinkers who attain their highest academic potential. We aim for our pupils to leave us as articulate and confident individuals, aware that their voices hold value within our community. Our vibrant curriculum is tailored to meet individual needs, ensuring that all learners are engaged and have meaningful experiences that bridge classroom learning with the world beyond.
We want pupils to leave our school:
- As independent, reflective, critical learners who have reached their highest academic potential
- As articulate, well read, confident speakers who know their views are valued in our school
- Having accessed a dynamic, vibrant, curriculum, where they have been challenged and inspired in ways that are matched to their individual needs
- Knowing more remembering more and doing more
- Having had learning experiences that lead to purposeful outcomes, where links with the world outside the classroom have been maximised
- Having lived out our school vision and values so that their time in a school has been truly expansive
- Proud of themselves, of their achievements of who they are and of their school
- Courageous advocates who have a sense of worth and care about the causes that are important to them
Our pride is evident throughout every facet of school life—from the exemplary behaviour of our pupils to the inspiring classroom environments. We cherish the enthusiasm for learning that permeates our community, supported by network of local expertise, including partnerships with the University of Warwick, the Royal Shakespeare Company and other local organisations and schools.
We believe that fostering an irresistible learning experience for children also extends to our dedicated staff. By engaging in best practices and continuous professional development, we aim to cultivate a culture of learning that benefits all involved.
We warmly invite you to visit us and discover for yourself the vibrant and thriving environment that Holy Trinity Primary School offers—where our incredible pupils shine brightly.
We see Stratford upon Avon as our campus
We regard Stratford-upon-Avon not merely as a historic site, but as our expansive campus. This vibrant environment allows us to draw upon exceptional expertise from the kind of local institutions we have mentioned above. We have established valuable partnerships with a variety of professionals—scientists, artists, sportspeople, and engineers. Our students have had the privilege of performing on the illustrious stage of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Moreover, through close collaborations with local secondary and grammar schools, we enhance our educational offerings while utilising top-notch facilities, including our beloved swimming pool and those at Stratford-upon-Avon School, located nearby.
This school is a wonderful place to be and will certainly provide an excellent education for your child. We warmly invite you to visit us, as we take great pride in sharing our thriving environment and most importantly, introducing you to our incredible pupils.
Vision
Our school vision is 'Rooted in Faith we Reach for the Stars', which comes from St Paul's letter to the Ephesians. In the letter Paul writes, 'Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith as we are rooted and grounded in love'. In the same letter Paul also writes about the height and depth and width of God's love. In our school we learn that love is greater than everything. Our aspirational vision is underpinned by our values. There is more information about this in our vision and values section.
