Now you know what your magic item will be in your story, we need to think about the characters.

You are going to keep the old woman in the story, but you can change the girl and the mother - you might have a father and son or a grandmother and granddaughter - you can choose.

First we would like you to draw your two characters - if you have coloured pencils at home then you could colour them in.

You will need to think about the colour of their hair and the colour of their eyes.

What are their clothes like? Remember that it is a traditional tale and set a long time ago.

Remember that your characters are poor.

Once you have drawn your two new characters then you could write a sentence about each one or you can say your sentence about the character to your grown-up and use the punctuation game.
