Shakespeare Week - Birthplace Trust Competition
Fri 29 May 2026We are excited to share details of the Shakespeare Week 2026 Competition, a national creative challenge launched as part of the annual Shakespeare Week celebrations, coordinated by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
This year’s competition invites primary-aged pupils to explore Shakespeare’s plays through their imagination by creating original artwork inspired by one of his famous stories. Children are encouraged to think about what they see in their “mind’s eye” when reading or learning about plays such as Macbeth, The Tempest, or A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Pupils can respond creatively to characters, settings, or key scenes, and produce artwork using any materials or media they choose, including drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, or digital design. Entrants are also asked to explain their ideas and inspiration behind their work.
The competition is open to children aged 4–11 years, with separate age categories, and also includes a prize for an outstanding collective school entry.
Winning entries will be showcased in an online exhibition, and selected winners will receive Shakespeare-themed prizes, art materials, and the opportunity for their work to be publicly displayed.
This is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to engage creatively with Shakespeare’s work and to be part of a national celebration of storytelling and the arts.

π Shakespeare Parade 2026 β A Wonderful Celebration for Our School Community
Mon 27 Apr 2026We are incredibly proud to share that members of our school community played a special part in this year’s Shakespeare Birthday Celebrations Parade in Stratford-upon-Avon.
A huge congratulations goes to Mr Sandle-Keynes, our Year 4 Sharks Teacher and member of the Senior Leadership Team, who had the honour of being compère for the entire event. This is a fantastic recognition of his role in such a prestigious and historic celebration, and we are immensely proud of his contribution to the day.
We are also delighted to celebrate Miss Smith, Year 4 Llamas teacher, who led our country dancers as part of the vibrant parade performances. Her leadership helped bring energy, tradition, and joy to the streets of Stratford as part of this world-famous celebration.
Our school was also proudly represented along the route, standing together behind the beautiful setting of Holy Trinity Church as the parade made its way through the town — a moment that truly connected our community with the heart of Shakespeare’s legacy.
Taking part in such a significant cultural event is a wonderful opportunity for our staff and pupils to be part of living history, and we are so proud of everyone involved for representing our school with enthusiasm, professionalism, and pride.
Thank you too to our Team who came on the special day to support us - it would not have been possible without you.
Well done to all involved in making this such a memorable day!
