  • Warwick Castle Year 2

    Thu 30 Nov 2023 T.Dale

Year 2 enjoyed a super visit to Warwick as part of their History and Geography learning about castles. The children had the opportunity learn what life would be like for people who lived in Warwick Castle and identified lots of features of castles from the models they had made in school. They were also very excited to watch the birds of prey display, swooping and diving down to catch their prey. The children participated in workshops to find out about the different jobs people had at Warwick Castle, although we are not sure we would want to have lived there as castle life was hard! Well done, Year 2, and thank you to our parent helpers for our fabulous day.

  • Year 4 Trip to Chedworth Roman Villa

    Mon 27 Nov 2023 T.Dale

Last week, Year 4 went time-travelling back two-thousand years to the Roman’s time in Britain. We rode our chariots (coaches) along the old Roman Fosseway to Chedworth Roman Villa. There, we had a guided tour of the remains of the site, including the bath-house (beware of any Year 4s giving you hair tonic for Christmas…) and made some mosaics. A fun day, packed with immersive learning!

  • Shoebox Success

    Wed 22 Nov 2023 T.Dale

On behalf of The Amen Trust I would like to say a great big thank you to the staff, parents, carers and children who contributed to the recent Shoe box appeal. I had many lovely contributions and I was able to make up 39 family boxes. Your gift is greatly appreciated and will be part of consignment to be distributed in 4 different places in Romania in early December. We were 1 of the local schools and groups that contributed to this wonderful cause. Please do check for more photos on the Stratford upon Avon Baptist church's Facebook page.

  • Girls Football

    Tue 21 Nov 2023 T.Dale

On Tuesday 21st November, our girls’ footballers attended a ‘Let’s Play’ event under the floodlights at Stratford Town.
The evening gave the girls the opportunity to play in 4 competitive matches, as well as hone their ball skills with sports leaders from Shottery Grammar School.
Across the evening, our girls won 2 matches, drew 1 and lost 1, scoring 6 goals and conceding just 1. For many of these girls, they’ve only been playing football for a short space of time and their progress has been phenomenal! Even more pleasing is the fact that their success seems to have prompted more and more girls to start attending football clubs either in school or externally. What’s more, they are an absolute delight and a pleasure to coach!

  • Cross Country

A massive well done to everyone who represented the school at the cross country event on Saturday 18th November. It was tough conditions on a very muddy course.
