SPAG and phonics
The spelling pattern for this week is as follows:
-y changed to -i before adding -es/-er/-est but not before -ing as this would result in ii The only ordinary words with ii are skiing and taxiing |

Example of above: copy - change the -y to -i - copi+er = copier
The common exception words that we are focusing on are: again and whole
We recommend that you put the spelling words into a sentence as this helps the children to put the word into context. This is particularly important for our EAL children.
