Are you unsure about the correct way to pronounce the phonic sounds when helping your child?  This video shows you the correct way to pronounce each individual sound and blend.

This Letters and Sounds page on youtube has useful videos for practising the different sounds and blends in both real and alien words.  There is a section of Year 2 revision videos (scroll down a little) but many of the other videos will also be useful.

Split digraphs - we have played Mr Thorne's split digraphs game in school as a good way of exploring the change in sound when the e is added.

Phonics play has some good games for practising reading words containing different sounds.  Some of these games are available without signing up to the website.  The phonics screen will include words for all phases up to and including phase 5.  If you are unsure which phase the sounds that your child is practising come into, please look at the phonics document below to check.
