Mindfulness activities to try
Chameleon class also tried some other mindfulness activities in the Autumn Term. You might like to try these at home too:
- sitting still and quietly, noticing everything in the room of a certain colour, eg. green - you don't have to point them out or speak, just notice them then keep looking around the room for other items of that colour.
- noticing something in the room for each colour of the rainbow - red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple (indigo and violet might be a bit tricky!).
- close your eyes and count to 10 in your head. When you get to 10, start again at 1 and keep repeating. Don't worry if you lose count, just start again at 1. You can count slowly or quickly, it's up to you, the important thing is to focus on the counting and nothing else. Keep doing this for 2 or 3 minutes.
