Phonic Sounds Mat

This contains many of the different phonics sounds which the children have been taught and can be used to support children with spelling in their written work.

Common Exception Words

There is a cursive and standard version for this, please use whichever your child finds easier to read.  These wordmats contain the Year 1 and 2 Common Exception Words which children reaching the expected standard at the end of Year 2 would be expected to include the majority of (spelt correctly!) in their writing.  This can be used to support writing but also to practise the reading and spelling of these words.
