Science

Animals Including Humans

This is our new science topic for this half term.  The National Curriculum requires that children can;

  • Identify that animals, including humans, need the right types and amount of nutrition, and that they cannot make their own food; they get nutrition from what they eat.
  • Identify that humans and some other animals have skeletons and muscles for support, protection and movement.

Task 1

Explore the food a fact of life website (link below).  There is lots of information, mini lessons and resources.  Find out what a balanced plate is made up of.

The Challenge

In honour of Shakespeare Week your challenge is to make a portrait of Shakespeare out of food BUT your plate must contain the correct balance fruit and vegetables, carbohydrates, protein, dairy and fats.

It would be great if you could send in pictures of your finished portrait, either by class email or Twitter.   Good Luck and have fun!
