This week will be creating a plan for our diary entry, writing our diary entry and then editing and improving.

The plan:

We will use the shape of a c 

We use the shape of a c for non fiction writing.

We are going to use words and pictures to show what happened on Pirate Day (if you were not in school then you may wish to do a plan for your day at home).

The Diary entry:

Your entry is to written in past tense 

Start your diary entry with the date that the event took place

Use time openers - First, Then, After that, Next, Finally

Write the events in the order that they happened and use your plan to help you.

Edit and improve:

Read your diary entry out loud so that you can spot any errors

Tell a grown up what could be improved
