This week, we will explore a new story, Jack and the Flumflum Tree by Julia Donaldson and David Roberts.  We will use clues in the title, cover, blurb and illustrations to help us predict what might happen.  We will then enjoy hearing the story itself.

Look at the image of the front cover below.  Take turns with your adult to say what you see in the illustration.  What might be happening?  What might have happened before or after this moment?

In this story, there is a patchwork sack of interesting objects.  Look at the image of these objects below.  What are these objects?  How might you use them?  Why might they be needed in the story?  Take turns with your adult to suggest ideas.

What do you think might happen in this story?  Read the blurb together to find more clues.  Has your prediction changed?
