POETRY AT THE BIRTHPLACE
The Shakespeare’s Birthplace
Seahorses –
Birmingham Poet Laureate Matt Windle came into work with the class. He set them up with a partner school who wrote a Polish poem called 'Polonaise'. Seahorses were tasked to write their own individual poems in response.
Having an audience and context for the poetry really heightened the children's enthusiasm and they produced great work.
The poems were displayed outdoors at Halls Croft on the 16th June. Our families attended to see all the poetry displayed in the trees and two of our pupils actually gave a spell binding performance of their poems.
