At The Willows, we offer children a rich and exciting curriculum that makes learning irresistible and explores the links we can make across subjects. The standards in Spanish language are excellent because children learn the subject from Reception and continue until Year 6. Linking with Spanish, their chocolate topic, literacy, numeracy and food technology, children in Year 3 spent a morning learning about how to make Mexican hot chocolate. The ingredients they used came from Spain (as you can see from the packaging) and they were introduced to a book that was written both in Spanish and English. Their observational art work of the molinillo they used to make the drink, was careful and effective.
