Children’s Mental Health Week

During Children’s Mental Health Week, our school will be taking part in a range of age-appropriate activities to help children explore and understand the importance of mental health and wellbeing. This year’s theme focuses on belonging — helping children feel safe, valued and included in school and beyond.

Throughout the week, children will take part in:

  • Classroom activities and discussions designed to help them talk about feelings, friendships and what makes them feel they belong

  • Whole-school or class assemblies linked to the theme, using stories and examples suitable for different age groups

  • Creative activities, such as art, writing or group work, allowing children to express themselves and share what makes them feel happy and supported

  • Opportunities to learn positive ways to look after their mental wellbeing, including kindness, listening to others and asking for help when needed

All activities will be delivered in a safe, supportive and age-appropriate way, and will be adapted to suit the needs of each class. Our aim is to help children build confidence, resilience and understanding, while reinforcing that it’s okay to talk about how they feel.
