Class Dojo

We use ClassDojo, a secure and GDPR-compliant online platform, to give families occasional glimpses into their child’s learning in our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Specialist Resource Provision, Star Rise. 

ClassDojo is free for parents and carers to use and can be accessed through the app on a phone or tablet, or via a laptop or computer. You will receive a unique passcode within your child’s first three weeks at school.

What will we use ClassDojo for?

We will use two features:

• Portfolios – to share occasional photographs of your child’s learning.

• Class Story – to share class news, updates and celebrations.

We will not use the Messages or Points features. Please do not use ClassDojo to contact our school team - For school queries or to report an absence, please continue to use Studybugs and our usual school communication channels.

How often will we share photographs?

ClassDojo may look a little different from how online platforms were used at your child's previous setting. Rather than providing daily or weekly updates, we will share occasional snapshots of learning and experiences with us.

You can expect approximately:

• Autumn and Spring Terms: 2–3 photographs each half term

• Summer Term: 1–2 photographs each half term, as children begin preparing for their transition to Year 1

Your child's learning and progress will also be recorded in many other ways, including reading records, literacy books and handwriting books.
