Christmas 2022

Nativity scene
The Nativity scene is a wonderful creation made by Mr Hunt’s father and all the characters very kindly knitted by Mrs Scott (our Midday supervisor).

Reverse Advent Calendar
Thank you to everyone who has donated to this year’s Reverse Advent Calendar and to all our Year 5 elves for keeping all the items collected and the tree looking so fabulous.

Reception Nativity Performance
A huge well done to all the wonderful reception children for their amazing performance in their first school Nativity on Tuesday. They worked so hard to learn the songs and their lines. We are so proud of their performance. It was so lovely to see so many proud parents and family members in the audience.

Year 6 Handbell Group at Victorian Market

On Thursday 8 December the Y6 Handbell Group performed at the Victorian Christmas Market. The children have been practising very hard and performed a selection of Carols for a small but appreciative audience! It has certainly got everyone feeling a bit more Christmassy!

Years 1 & 2 Nativity
It was night before Christmas, and Bethlehem is holding its annual baking competition. This year KS1 sung wonderful songs as shepherds, bakers, twinkling stars, heavenly angles, donkeys and a host of special guests as they told the special story of what brought them all to Bethlehem. In the words of baking judge Saul, every child 'rose to the occasion to deliver a truly special Christmas message.

Year 4 Nativity
To make up for a lack of live performance opportunity in the last couple of years, Year 4 performed their own Christmas nativity play this year – ‘Don’t be Afraid’. They performed brilliantly – without fear, doubt or panic! Thanks to all the parents and staff who made this performance possible.

Year 5/6 Carol Service

Year 5 and 6 took part in a wonderful Christmas Service at Holy Trinity Church on Wednesday evening. A very special evening, including readings, carols, musical items and drama telling the story of the Nativity, helped us to all get into the Christmas spirit. The children performed brilliantly and it was lovely to have families able to attend in person once more. Many thanks to all involved in the preparation, performance and audience.

Year 3 Christingle Service
The Year 3s performed for their first time at our iconic Holy Trinity Church for a very special Christingle service. Along with the help of Mr Phil Harper, the children’s minister, Year 3 discussed the significance of the Christingle. It was a very special afternoon service complete with the lighting of the candles.

Santa Fun Run
On Friday 9 December, the children took part in our Festive Fun run raising vital funds for the school. The frosty morning made the event feel extra festive. The children skipped, dribbled and slalomed their way around the course, all with smiles on their faces. The costumes and outfits on show this year were particularly impressive, many thanks for your support.
