On Monday 27th February, our boys’ football team hosted a fixture against Wilmcote Primary School. In a very eventful opening 10 minutes, we quickly found ourselves 4-0 up having scored some wonderful goals. At this time, the opposition brought an extra player on to the pitch and we reshuffled some of our positions. This didn’t stop the boys playing some excellent football though and they went into half time 6-0 up.
The second half saw the opposition bring on another extra player making it 9 v 11. I was so proud of our team, as at no point did anyone moan or complain that this was unfair and they were all fully aware and empathetic with the reasons behind this. In actual fact, it proved to be a suitable challenge and really made our boys consider their decision making on the ball.
The final score was 8-6 to us with goals scored by Robin (3) Alistair (2) Rhys, Jake, Christopher and Tommy. Those of you good at maths will notice that equals 9 as Tommy and Robin were both credited with a goal as they were unable to agree whether Robin’s cross turned shot had crossed the line before Tommy turned it home…a goals a goal at the end of the day. Well done to everyone involved, another great performance.
